Understand the detector before trusting the number

Different detectors report different quantities, so two percentages are not automatically comparable. Start with the provider’s definition of its output, then consider passage length, language and the review context. These explainers distinguish the provider’s claims from Cortex’s actual connection and show what a result cannot establish about a student’s writing.

What GPTZero results mean, and how to review them

GPTZero classifies writing as human, AI or mixed and provides probability and confidence information. Those outputs describe a model’s assessment, not proof of a person’s writing process. Cortex calls GPTZero’s text API; it does not provide Turnitin reports, plagiarism matches or the full GPTZero application.

How we choose what to publish

Each article must answer a distinct question, cite its sources and identify what Cortex actually supports. We separate provider claims from observed product behaviour and do not use detector outcomes as proof of authorship. New comparisons and explainers are added only after their evidence has been reviewed, rather than producing pages by swapping product names.

For a writing decision, start with revision and source quality. For a disputed detector result, start with what the score means and your genuine draft history. If your instructor prohibits AI assistance, a tool cannot grant an exception.
